Sportsbook First Impression
Looking around the site at first glance I realized "I was not in Kansas anymore". Many of the sports available for wagering were definitely indigenous to the UK sportsbooks.
Forty minutes later and I was still trying to make a deposit. I kept getting an error that my credit card could not be validated. I chatted with the live help and they said that I could call back in 8 hours when the office in London opened and make a deposit via phone. Otherwise, the only other option for deposit is check, wire transfer and Western Union.
I started looking for my international calling card so the call doesn't cost me $3.00 a minute. Now I remember why I have a user name and password to SportingOdds, but never made a deposit. Eight hours later, I finally get some money in my sportsbook account.
Wagering
The NFL is the only sport that I have any knowledge of as far as the wagers that were on the betting boards. Most all of their wagering options are propositions except for the NFL, football (not the kind with pads).
Other sports that they offer wagers in are golf, tennis, cricket, darts, snooker, US basketball props and boxing. Using the wager interface is fairly straightforward. If you are from the US, you may have a hard time finding the NFL lines, because they are under the heading "Full Match Coupon." The same goes for the soccer (football) odds, which are posted as fractions (e.g. 13/5). The wagering on soccer is posted as win/draw and the NFL options were the point spread, over/under and the moneyline. You are also able to give or take points with an adjustment to your wager pricing.
There are really not a lot of options to place a bet, unless you are strictly a European soccer match and European proposition gambler.
Online Sportbook Research
All of the information and players online had nothing but good things to say about SportingOdds, but they were also only betting on football (not the one with pads) matches.
Promotions
SportingOdds had no promotions whatsoever running. Nada. None. Zip. Zilch. Yep, you heard me! None.
Sportsbook Customer Service
The customer service at SportingOdds was exceptional. The live chat operator was available and very informative. The only problem with the phone line is that from the US it is an international call. The US interests sportsbooks should take some etiquette lessons from the Brits on how to run a gambling business. They actually sounded like they were enjoying themselves. Imagine that!
Bottom Line
I would recommend this site to European soccer handicappers, pardon me, football handicappers, but SportingOdds has no bonuses. There are too many great online sportsbooks that do offer bonuses, even in the UK. If you are not getting bonuses, then you are not gambling smart.
Unless you are a US handicapper interested in the European proposition market or soccer matches, I suggest you also find another sportsbook to deposit your cash. Not to mention again, NO BONUSES!
This is about winning your bets and having fun, not just having fun. If you're a professional gambler, it's not about fun at all, but the bottom line. The bottom line is if you're not getting bonuses, you better be getting great odds, which is not very likely.
